Knox County Mayor Glenn Jacobs and U.S. Rep. Tim Burchett joined the Halls Crossroads Women’s League for a cash mob at Big Oak Shoe Store, 7120 Maynardville Pike, on June 29.

A cash mob is a group of people who assemble at a local business to create excitement and drive sales.

Big Oak Shoes is a family-owned small business located in the heart of the Halls community. For 50 years, Big Oak Shoes has sold brand name footwear at competitive prices. The family prides itself on excellent selection and personal customer service.

President Mary Carroll said this first event was a “big success” and the next cash mob will be Wednesday, July 27, from 3-6 p.m. at Shattered Dreams, 6665 Maynardville Pike, near Domino’s Pizza. Dallas Love is the owner. He repairs computers, iPhones and iPads and sells cases, screens and other parts for your equipment.

“We plan to have one cash mob a month, except for November and December,” said Carroll.

The Women’s League is sponsoring a Farmers Market on Tuesdays from 3-6 p.m. in the parking lot of Halls Center, next to Arby’s.
