At 9 years old, Griffin is the definition of a loyal and loving best friend. This handsome hound/collie mix first came to us as a tiny puppy and spent years in a home where he was deeply loved. Sadly, after his owner’s passing, Griffin found himself back at the shelter, searching for a forever family once again. He has now been waiting at the shelter for 79 days, patiently hoping someone will give him the second chance he deserves. While his world has changed, Griffin’s sweet and gentle personality has remained exactly the same.
Griffin is an easy-going boy who enjoys the simple things in life. He doesn’t ask for much, just a soft place to rest, a few gentle pets, and someone to love. He has wonderful manners, is fully potty trained, and is the ultimate couch potato who would be happiest snuggled up right next to you. He also has an endearing little overbite that only adds to his charm and makes everyone who meets him smile.
Griffin would do best as the only dog in the home, where he can soak up all the love and attention for himself. He’s happiest simply being close to his people, whether that’s lounging in the yard, watching television, or relaxing on the porch after a long day.
Senior dogs like Griffin often get overlooked, but they have so much love left to give. He already knows how to be a wonderful companion and is ready to settle right into a home where he can feel safe, cherished, and truly part of the family again.
If you’ve been searching for a calm, devoted companion with a heart of gold, Griffin may be the perfect addition to your family.
Pet Tip: Older dogs like Griffin do best with calm routines and cozy spaces where they can relax and feel safe while adjusting to their new home.
