Sarah Grace Gibbs Ott, 104, passed away on Sept. 5. The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. Monday, Sept. 9, at Rose Mortuary Broadway Chapel.
According to her obituary, her great-great-great grandfather was the founder of the Gibbs community. She was married to the Rev. A.L. Ott, who preceded her in death, along with their two children, August Leo Ott Jr. and Margaret Katherine “Kay” Atkins. She is survived by six grandchildren and their families.
Mrs. Ott graduated from Valdosta State College and earned a master’s degree from the University of Georgia. She was a reading specialist, teacher, artist, reader and world traveler.
