Get Out & Play: Fall Break

Fall Break is next week, and we’ve got the scoop on fun things to do. Take the kids out to enjoy the warmth in our many parks or enjoy one of these upcoming family friendly events:

Ijams Nature Center is hosting Fall Break Camp featuring a variety of nature- and activity-based adventures. Campers will learn about autumn changes by building and playing in the leaf piles and examining falling leaves. They’ll have the chance to enjoy the natural world through activities like canoeing, kayaking, hiking, rock scrambling and exploring the natural caves. They will also learn about animal life through activities like fishing, dip netting, observing aquatic life and learning about birds and their fall migration patterns. Even though school is out, your kids are sure to come home from this camp with a degree in nature.

Burn some energy at the Kids Bike Ride at the Cove. You and your little ones can enjoy the beautiful greenway at The Cove at Concord Park on two wheels. The best part is that this family-oriented event ends with ice cream!

Don your favorite superhero costume and join Dream Connection Family Fun Run this Saturday. The course is relatively flat and runs along the Ten Mile Creek Greenway.

Or plan your own week of exploration by checking out Outdoor Knoxville’s full list of parks, upcoming community events. However you choose to spend your Fall Break, make sure to get out & play!
