Free putt-putt ahead

Susan EspirituFarragut, Our Town Neighbors

Free Putt-Putt Day is Monday, March 13, from 2-8 p.m. at Sir Gooney’s Family Fun Center on Kingston Pike. This has been happening for a while. We first wrote about it in 2017, calling that the 26th annual event. Not sure how Covid affected putt-putt, but one thing is clear. Like the cornbread at Cracker Barrel, it is shrinking. In 2017, the event ran from noon to 9 p.m.

Come get a seedling or seed mix

TN Arbor Day is at the beginning of March and the town of Farragut is celebrating with its annual plant giveaway. Bare root seedlings (trees and shrubs) and native seed mix will be available to members of the community for free.

UT Forestry Department and members of the town’s Tree Board will be on site during the event to provide information and answer questions about urban trees, stormwater, streams, pollution, water quality and related topics. Seedlings will be available for pickup on Saturday, March 4, 2023, from 10 a.m. – noon at McFee Park Great Lawn Pavilion.
