Girls on the Run Greater Knoxville received  First Horizon funding, announced at the 2026 InfluenceHER Summit, to support programs that build confidence, healthy habits, and life skills among girls in East Tennessee.

Girls on the Run Greater Knoxville serves girls in Anderson, Blount, Knox, Loudon and Sevier counties. Its programs combine physical activity with lessons and discussions designed to help participants recognize their strengths, build meaningful connections, and develop social, emotional, and physical skills

The organization, founded locally in 2005, reports that it serves more than 400 girls annually with the help of more than 100 volunteers. More than 6,500 girls have participated in its Greater Knoxville programs since the organization began.

The First Horizon contribution was announced during the 2026 InfluenceHER Summit at Neyland Stadium. The event brought together women from business, athletics and community organizations for discussions focused on financial, professional and personal development.

For Girls on the Run Greater Knoxville, financial support also helps make its programs available to girls regardless of a family’s ability to pay. The organization offers financial assistance so cost does not prevent a girl from participating.
