The Farragut High School Advanced Mixed Choir participated in the 2024 Lee Honor Choir on February 9-10 with the nearly 400 students from 30 other schools from Tennessee, Georgia, Virginia and Alabama that came to Lee University for the weekend of music.

The students were able to sing in three different choirs led by Dr. Cameron Weatherford from Lee University and Dr. Jefferson Johnson from the University of Kentucky.

During the honor choir, students were able to tour the university, explore different majors and meet other students from around the southeast.

Ella Morton, Kailey Scheafnocker and Jude Smith

Three students auditioned for the School of Music and were given immediate acceptance into all music programs: Ella Morton, Kailey Scheafnocker and Jude Smith.

The event concluded with a community performance at Lee University’s Dixon Center on Saturday.

The FHS Advanced Mixed Choir was specifically invited to participate as the “showcase choir” for the event. This included a special performance on Friday evening for the attending schools. They were the only participating group given this honor!
