On Friday, March 8, Farragut Primary School hosted a Career Day for the nearly 400 second grade students, giving professionals from different fields the  opportunity to share their experiences, insights and knowledge to inspire young minds to dream and pursue a possible future passion.

Ashley Phillips, FPS school counselor, said about 25 parent and community volunteers participated with the students in the gym. The students visited tables to ask questions, view props and tools associated with each career.

Phillips said college and career awareness begins in the elementary years and the students learned a great deal from the experience because it opens the young minds to a world of possibilities.
