Farragut High School’s spring sports teams had an amazing past two weeks as reported by the Admirals sports information director.

Baseball:

  • Won district championship, defeating Maryville 11-0 in the title game
  • Won region championship on Saturday, beating Oak Ridge 21-2 in the title game after opening the tournament with a 20-0 victory over Central
  • Won sectionals on Thursday, topping Science Hill 18-0

Softball:

  • Won district championship, defeating No. 1 seeded Maryville 14-4 in the title game
  • Won region championship against Central.
  • Lost in the sectionals on Friday to Dobyns-Bennett.

Boys Tennis:

  • Won district championship on Tuesday, 5-1 over Bearden
  • Won region championship on Friday, 4-0 over West
  • Leyton Lu won the district singles championship

Girls Tennis:

  • Won district championship on Monday, 5-0 over Maryville
  • Won region championship on Friday, 4-0 over West, and heading to state tournament.
  • Riley Cassity won the district singles championship

Track and Field:

  • At the sectional meet on Saturday at HVA, Farragut’s athletes qualified for the state meet in approximately 20 events:
  • Boys 4×800 Meter Relay Team (Nick DeGuira, Evan Beeler, Harrison Cunningham, Braden Ebbert)
  • Harrison Cunningham (1600 Meter Run)
  • Chris Valentin (400 Meter Run)
  • Tony Spadafora (400 Meter Run)
  • Ava Barczak (400 Meter Run)
  • Parker Willis (800 Meter Run), sectional champion
  • Evan Beeler (800 Meter Run)
  • Boys 4×400 Meter Relay Team (Chris Valentin, Chase McAvoy, Tony Spadafora, Noah Eaker)
  • Girls 4×400 Meter Relay Team (Parker Willis, Sarah Lynn, Reagan Estes, Ava Barczak)
  • Braden Ebbert (3200 Meter Run), sectional champion
  • Chase McAvoy (Decathlon)
  • Katie Edmunds (Pole Vault), sectional champion
  • Sunny Coffey (Triple Jump)
  • Bryce Thompson (Discus), sectional champion
  • Bryce Thompson (Shot Put), sectional champion – New FHS record of 65 feet-10.5 inches
  • Julian Gorfido (Pole Vault)
  • Max Smydra (Triple Jump)
