Farragut High School wins across several sports

Farragut High School’s spring sports teams had an amazing past two weeks as reported by the Admirals’ sports information director.

Baseball:

Won district championship, defeating Maryville 11-0 in the title game
Won region championship on Saturday, beating Oak Ridge 21-2 in the title game after opening the tournament with a 20-0 victory over Central
Won sectionals on Thursday, topping Science Hill 18-0

Softball:

Won district championship, defeating No. 1 seeded Maryville 14-4 in the title game
Won region championship against Central.
Lost in the sectionals on Friday to Dobyns-Bennett.

Boys Tennis:

Girls Tennis:

Won district championship on Monday, 5-0 over Maryville
Won region championship on Friday, 4-0 over West, and heading to state tournament.
Riley Cassity won the district singles championship

Track and Field:

At the sectional meet on Saturday at HVA, Farragut’s athletes qualified for the state meet in approximately 20 events:

Braden Ebbert (3200 Meter Run), sectional champion
Chase McAvoy (Decathlon)
Katie Edmunds (Pole Vault), sectional champion
Sunny Coffey (Triple Jump)
Bryce Thompson (Discus), sectional champion
Bryce Thompson (Shot Put), sectional champion – New FHS record of 65 feet-10.5 inches
Julian Gorfido (Pole Vault)
Max Smydra (Triple Jump)
