Digital safety tips for youth

Knoxville Police Department Officer B. K. Hardin – a Bigs in Blue Mentor through Big Brothers Big Sisters of East Tennessee – will lead a class for mentors, mentees and families of mentees today (11/11).

The session will focus on safety issues related to cell phone usage, including cyber-bullying and dangerous apps. Officer Hardin will also discuss how the Internet can be used in a positive manner to further education and supplement classroom lessons.

The event will take place from 5:30-6:30 p.m. at The Regas Building, 318 North Gay Street, and is supported by the Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention and Big Brothers Big Sisters of America. Learn more about the Bigs in Blue program here.
