One of the best things about living in East Tennessee is that sometimes the journey is every bit as memorable as the destination. A winding country road, a tree-lined back highway, a quiet bridge over a creek, or a mountain drive can remind us why we love calling this region home.
Last week we wanted to see a favorite front porch. We got something even better: a creative, fun back porch scene from Sandy all the way from Kailua, Hawaii.

This week’s Community Snapshot features another favorite East Tennessee view. Whether it’s a road you’ve traveled for years or one you discovered by accident, these familiar routes often become part of our family’s story.
This Week’s Community Snapshot Challenge: Country Roads and Scenic Drives
Show us the road that makes you slow down and smile. It might be a quiet country road, a scenic mountain drive, a covered bridge, a tree-lined lane, a winding road with a beautiful view, or a favorite drive that reminds you of home or is on your way home.
We’d love to feature your photograph in next week’s Community Snapshot. Email your photo to news@knoxtntoday.com by Thursday at noon or share on Facebook and include:
- Your name (Optional)
- Your hometown
- Where the photo was taken
- A sentence or two explaining why it’s one of your favorite views
We’ll publish a selection of reader photos, with photographer credit, in next week’s feature.
The beauty of East Tennessee isn’t found in just one place. It’s waiting around the next bend in the road, and we’d love to see it through your camera lens.
