Chris shares his trip to Max Patch Bald

Each year Mother Nature throws a party of color in the Appalachian Mountains. We all receive an invitation to attend. Finding fall color may be as simple as a walk around the block or a drive to the mountains.

I do not know why it took me 30 years to make my first trip to Max Patch Bald. For years I heard of its beauty and broad vistas straddling the Tennessee/North Carolina border. For some reason, I had never made the trip. When I did, it was spectacular! This image, taken on Max Patch Road, documents that sometimes the travel can be as much fun as the party.

Photographer Chris and painter Robin Rohwer each week strive to share a painting or photograph that captured their interest in hopes that it will also capture yours. They have a small studio and gallery in the Emporium Center in downtown Knoxville where you can stop and see their work. Check ahead to see when they will be there, as they may be off looking for more inspiration. Their website is www.ChristopherRobinArts.com. Email them at ChristopherRobinArts@gmail.com. If a particular piece interests you for your home or office, please contact them. All works are copyright protected.
