I do not know why it took me 30 years to make my first trip to Max Patch Bald. For years I heard of its beauty and broad vistas straddling the Tennessee/North Carolina border. For some reason, I had never made the trip. When I did, it was spectacular! This image, taken on Max Patch Road, documents that sometimes the travel can be as much fun as the party.
