One of Knoxville’s favorite springtime festivals, the Dogwood Arts Chalk Walk, is making another appearance this fall with Chalk Walk at the Tennessee Valley Fair!  Professional and emerging artists of all ages will turn sidewalks into brilliant canvases to help celebrate 100 years of the Fair.

Chalk Walk at the Fair will feature over 30 artists and collaborative teams working on-site from 12-4 p.m. to complete their artwork. Cash prizes and ribbons will be awarded to select artists who create imaginative and inspiring artworks that reflect the vibrancy and history of the Tennessee Valley Fair.

“The Tennessee Valley Fair is ecstatic to partner with Dogwood Arts for ‘Chalk Walk at the Fair’” says Tennessee Valley Fair Executive Director Scott Suchomski. “We are always looking for new opportunities to promote arts in the community, and there’s no better way than with Dogwood Arts.”

Chalk painting is a unique form of public art that combines both the visual and performing arts, captivating a crowd while challenging the artist to create a one-of-a-kind masterpiece in a short period of time. Kids of all ages can also create their own chalk masterpiece with free chalk provided in The First Tennessee Fun Zone.
