The Mason Center for Healthcare Education has launched CertifyIt, a new podcast to help those who want to work in healthcare or those already in the field who want certifications to move up.

The Mason Center opened in 2023 (Knox TN Today story here). And it’s absolutely a great idea. Training is a blend of class and clinical work with an eye toward workforce development with no or minimal student debt.

Brandi Miller, executive director, says, “We aim to further the cause of providing affordable, flexible healthcare certification programs for individuals seeking career mobility in skilled nursing, senior living and long-term care.”

The West Knox campus consists of five state-of-the-art classrooms, training rooms, study spaces and a lounge, as well as office space for instructors and employees. The Mason Center for Healthcare Education offers high-tech equipment and technology for hands-on training and learning. Medical experience or background not necessary for some courses.

The center is a 501(c)(3) non-profit funded by Hillcrest Healthcare Foundation. To learn more about the Hillcrest Healthcare Foundation, visit: https://www.hillcresthc.com/foundation/

It was named for Bill and Janet Mason. Bill, an attorney, served on the Hillcrest board for 16 years. Janet is retired from careers in radio and real estate.

Bill Mason says of participants in the center: “I hope we start them, love them and train ’em up to better their lives as they serve others.”
