Students from Career Magnet Academy enrolled in Pellissippi State’s Machine Tool Technology class recently stepped into the real world of manufacturing with a visit to Aqua-Chem Inc.
During the tour, they connected with industry professionals, explored potential career paths, and got a firsthand look at what it’s like to work for a global company right here in Knoxville.
The experience came full circle the following week when Aqua-Chem recruiters visited the classroom to see those same students put their skills to work!
Pellissippi State Community College is a public community college based in Knox and Blount counties in Tennessee and operated by the Tennessee Board of Regents. The college operates four campuses: Hardin Valley, Blount County, Strawberry Plains and Magnolia Avenue.

Thank you for posting the article about Alexander McMillan, the American Revolutionary War patriot. I am one of his descendants who grew up on Strawberry Plains Pike in the Heart of the Fork (1961-present). My cousins and I are in the process of chronicling our family’s ancestors’ lives. Any article and/or photos we can unearth are greatly appreciated. Thank you, Jan Loveday Dickens, for your research and contributions to our research about great+ grandfather Alexander McMillan.
