Statement on the Passing of Cameron J. Brooks

Earlier this morning Cameron J. Brooks passed away at Ft. Sanders Hospital
surrounded by his devoted husband, Wes Knott, his mother Jane Brooks, father John
Brooks, and brother Aaron Brooks. After receiving treatment for his recent diagnosis of
non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma, Cameron tragically developed advanced sepsis following the
first round of treatment.

Cameron loved his husband, his family, his many dedicated friendships, his dogs,
politics, his work, and the Raiders. The last few months of his life were spent doing what
he loves most–meeting new friends and working for a better Knoxville. Cameron’s
campaign wants to thank all of those who believed in, volunteered for, donated to, and
most of all, voted for Cameron and his vision. We thank you for joining Cameron in this
civic pursuit.

Funeral arrangements along with an official obituary will be forthcoming. If you would
like to honor Cameron–we invite you to make a donation in Cameron’s honor to the
Young-Williams Animal Center.
