The Bearden Theatre will present The Music Man on Thursday, November 9, and Saturday, November 11, 7 p.m. and Sunday, November 12, 2:30 p.m. at Bearden High School auditorium, 8352 Kingston Pike.
Meredith Willson’s six-time, Tony Award-winning musical comedy has been entertaining audiences since 1957 and is one of the most universally cherished treasures of the American musical theatre.
The Music Man follows fast-talking traveling salesman Harold Hill as he cons the people of River City, Iowa, into buying instruments and uniforms for a children’s band he vows to organize and teach to play – despite the fact that he doesn’t know a trombone from a treble clef. His brilliant plans might be foiled by Marian, the town’s prim librarian and piano teacher, who isn’t buying what Harold Hill is selling … at first.
Running time of 2 hours and 25 minutes, with one intermission, and is recommended for children ages 6 and up.
Tickets are $12 for general admission and $15 for reserved seating: available at Bearden Theatre.
