A holiday in tranquility

Christopher RobinOur Town Arts

Usually full of crazy Christmas noise, my house was quiet on the 25th. For a Christmas-crazed mom, an empty nest was disconcerting, so I changed the channel and headed to the mountains. On a warm day near 70 degrees, that was exactly where I needed to be.

This 24×30 painting came from photos I snapped at sundown along Abrams Creek. The trees are shadowed, the water dark, the mountains blue with warm grasses in the foreground.

Centered by the beauty and warmed by the sun, my day was still quiet, but a fulfilling quiet.
