Girls on the Run Greater Knoxville received  First Horizon funding, announced at the 2026 InfluenceHER Summit, to support programs that build confidence, healthy habits, and life skills among girls in East Tennessee.

Girls on the Run Greater Knoxville serves girls in Anderson, Blount, Knox, Loudon and Sevier counties.  Girls on the Run equips girls with confidence, essential life skills, and a supportive community that helps them thrive.

GOTR says, “We are grateful for First Horizon’s partnership, which helps ensure more girls have access to participate in Girls on the Run. Together, we are helping more girls across East Tennessee build healthy habits, strengthen connections, and activate their limitless potential.”

The organization, founded locally in 2005, reports that it serves more than 400 girls annually with the help of more than 100 volunteers. More than 6,500 girls have participated in its Greater Knoxville programs since the organization began.

The First Horizon contribution was announced during the 2026 InfluenceHER Summit at Neyland Stadium. The event brought together women from business, athletics and community organizations for discussions focused on financial, professional and personal development.

First Horizon’s support helps Girls on the Run Greater Knoxville provide scholarships for participants, train volunteer coaches, and expand access to life-changing programming throughout East Tennessee.

For Girls on the Run Greater Knoxville, financial support also helps make its programs available to girls regardless of a family’s ability to pay. The organization offers financial assistance so cost does not prevent a girl from participating.
