Chris Talley’s roots run deep in East Tennessee. Born and raised in Maryville, Tennessee, he attended high school in Alcoa, where he excelled in both football and baseball. Those early years helped shape the work ethic and commitment to service that continue to define him today.

After graduation, Talley pursued higher education at Rhodes College in Memphis. The future Dr. Talley earned his bachelor’s in Biology at Rhodes, and after graduation, attended Life University, where he graduated with honors with his Doctorate in Chiropractic.

Family remains at the center of his life. Chris and his wife, Sabrina, have been married for 16 years and are raising two daughters. Much of their family time revolves around supporting the girls’ athletic activities and spending time together outdoors. One of Talley’s favorite traditions is an annual “rough” camping trip with his daughters—an adventure that often means no designated campsite and few modern conveniences.

Education has also played a significant role in the Talley household. His wife, Sabrina, has devoted 27 years to education. She currently serves as academic dean at St. John Neumann Catholic School, continuing a family commitment to helping others succeed.

A longtime community volunteer, Talley joined the Bearden Rotary Club in 2021 and has become known for his willingness to serve wherever needed. Being a guest reader at Pond Gap Elementary and ringing bells for the Salvation Army during the Christmas season are two examples of his servant mindset.

Professionally, Talley has built a thriving chiropractic practice. Today, he sees approximately 160 patients each week, with nearly half of his new patients coming through referrals from existing clients—a testament to the trust he has earned within the community. His practice has continued to grow, recently moving to a new location near Whole Foods on Bearden Hill and adding a second chiropractor to the office.

Whether caring for patients, supporting community programs, spending time with family, or enjoying the outdoors, Chris Talley demonstrates a dedication to service that leaves a lasting impact on those around him.

As part of the Bearden Rotary Club’s “Know Your Rotarian” segment, fellow member Dick Hinton shared four facts about Dr. Talley—three truths and one lie:

Three Truths and a LIE

  1. The motto of his company is “Where everybody knows your name”, paying homage to a distant cousin, George Wendt, who was Norm on Cheers.
  2. Participates 1-2 times/year in “Spartan Races”; participants run a 5k, interrupted at ¼ mile intervals for participants to do things such as wall climbs, bucket carries, monkey bars, and barbed wire crawl
  3. One of his favorite leisure pastimes is playing craps; he taught fellow Rotarian Steve Copman to play at a Casino night fundraiser for our club. He said that Steve picked it up so easily, he wondered if Steve already knew how to play.
  4. Chris has a life-sized poster of Dolly Parton in his office.

Chris Talley often shares a few interesting facts about himself. What is true is that Chris participates in one or two Spartan Races each year, tackling 5K courses filled with challenges such as wall climbs, bucket carries, balance beams, monkey bars, and barbed-wire crawls. He also enjoys playing craps and once taught fellow club member Steve Copman how to play at a casino night fundraiser, only to discover that Steve picked up the game so quickly he may have already known the rules. Another true fact is that Chris has a life-sized poster of Dolly Parton hanging in his office.

While some might believe that the motto of his company is “Where everybody knows your name,” a playful nod to a distant cousin, George Wendt, who played Norm on Cheers, that claim is actually untrue.
