Today, Monday, April 13, 7 p.m. at Knoxville Civic Auditorium, 500 Howard Baker Jr. Ave., Knoxville, Justice Knox will convene more than 2,000 people of faith from all parts of Knoxville and greater Knox County to invite city and county officials to partner with Justice Knox to create a more just, compassionate, and thriving community for all. Numerous city and county officials, as well as county mayoral candidates Kim Frazier, Beau Hawk, and Larsen Jay, are committed to attending.

Justice Knox comprises congregations of diverse faith backgrounds, joined to fulfill the scriptural mandate to “do justice” (Micah 6:8). Last fall, nearly 600 members gathered in small-group meetings to discuss what worries them and which community problems affect them most. With this in mind, in November 2025, nearly 400 Justice Knox leaders voted to set the organization’s Action priorities.

On April 13, Justice Knox will hold its 10th annual Nehemiah Action Assembly to demonstrate public will for change. The meeting is called a “Nehemiah Action” because it is modeled after the biblical example of a “great assembly” holding officials accountable for justice (Nehemiah 5).
