When Quinton Conard graduated from Union County High School, like many young adults, he wasn’t quite sure what his next chapter would hold. He knew he wanted meaningful work, a supportive environment, and the chance to grow, but he didn’t know what that path looked like.

Sometimes, the best opportunities begin close to home.

Inspired by his mom, who works at Beverly Park Health and Rehab as the Admissions Assistant, Quinton decided to follow in her footsteps and accepted a position in housekeeping. What began as a simple first job quickly became something much more.

From the very start, Quinton stood out. Department heads noticed his strong work ethic, positive attitude, and consistent dedication to doing his job well. Whether helping keep the community welcoming for the residents and visitors or stepping in wherever help was needed, Quinton brought pride and purpose to everything he did. In just three short months of employment, his commitment was recognized when he was selected as Employee of the Month, an impressive achievement for any team member, especially one so early in their career.

But Quinton’s story didn’t stop there.

Director of  Nursing, Laura Major, saw something special in him, a natural compassion, a willingness to learn, and the potential to make a lasting impact in healthcare. Encouraged by her belief in his abilities, Quinton enrolled in the CNA program at the Mason Center for Healthcare Education, a partner of Hillcrest Healthcare, taking his first step toward a career of caring for others.

“We are creating pathways to employee self-fulfillment and building tomorrow’s workforce.  It gives me a huge sense of pride in being a small part of Quinton’s journey.” “I see how it reframes a dream into reality.”  “Opportunity-take it at Hillcrest!”  said Laura Major, Director of Nursing.

Today, Quinton’s journey represents exactly what our mission is about: creating real pathways for growth, investing in our people, and building opportunities that change lives. His story also beautifully reflects the power of intergenerational employment, a mother and son serving together in the same community, modeling dedication, service, and pride in their work.

“I am so proud of Quinton and grateful for the opportunity he has been given. He has always been a natural caregiver, and I know he’s going to do great things,” said Amber Riffey, Admissions Assistant & mom.

Quinton’s success is a reminder that when organizations create environments where potential is seen, encouraged, and supported, incredible things can happen. From housekeeping to healthcare education, his path demonstrates that every role matters and every team member has the opportunity to grow into something even greater.

We are proud of Quinton, grateful for the mentorship and leadership that helped guide him, and excited to see where his journey continues. His story is not just about one employee — it’s about what’s possible when people are given opportunity, encouragement, and a place to belong and thrive.
