Career Magnet Academy celebrated a milestone this spring, with the largest number of students in the school’s partnership with Pellissippi State Community College earning their associate degrees before receiving their high school diplomas.
A total of 42 Career Magnet Academy students graduated with associate degrees from Pellissippi State, the most of any CMA graduating class to date. The students were recognized during Pellissippi’s Spring 2026 Commencement ceremonies held May 8, 2026, at the college’s Hardin Valley campus.
Career Magnet Academy, a Knox County Schools high school located on Pellissippi State’s Strawberry Plains campus, gives students the opportunity to pursue advanced academic and career-focused study while earning college credit. Through the partnership with Pellissippi, students can complete an associate degree alongside their high school coursework.
More than 800 students graduated from Pellissippi State this month. During commencement ceremonies, Pellissippi State President L. Anthony Wise Jr. reflected on the college’s vision of being a “career-immersion college,” where students are supported through clearly defined academic pathways and meaningful career development opportunities.
Pellissippi State Community College is a public community college based in Knox and Blount counties in Tennessee and operated by the Tennessee Board of Regents. The college operates four campuses: Hardin Valley, Blount County, Strawberry Plains and Magnolia Avenue.
