- AMBC (Appalachian Mountain Bike Club) will hold its final regular workday of the season 9 a.m. to noon Sunday, May 7, at Haw Ridge Trailhead. Volunteers should bring water and gloves. Lunch and refreshments afterwards provided by Knoxville Bicycle Company and Yee-Haw Brewing Co.
- Splash pads operated by Knox County Parks & Rec will open for the season Saturday, May 6, at Carl Cowan Park, New Harvest Park and Powell Station Park. Splash pads are water playgrounds for all ages. Use is free and hours, weather permitting, are 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily through Sept. 10.
- Farmers Market on Market Square will open 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, May 6, with seasonal produce, honey, vegetables, eggs and more.
