• Happy Tuesday! It’s Election Day all day with polls open 8 a.m.-8 p.m. and Knox County Schools closed for teacher in-service. The Republicans will celebrate at the Crowne Plaza downtown, starting at 7 p.m.
  • Our guess to lead the ticket: Tom Spangler, the cop that (some) folks thought was not political enough to win. Close behind: Sherry Witt.
  • Lions Club’s carnival will be held May 9-13 at Knoxville Center mall near Penney’s. Free admission with a $20 arm band per day for all rides. Discount tickets for $5 will be available. Info: Greg Householder or Rick Long.
