Fall break brings a full week of activities for children and teens, including market fun, spooky crafts, LEGO building, cave exploration and four nights of Boo! at the Zoo.

Here are youth-friendly activities for Wednesday, Oct. 7, through Tuesday, Oct. 13. Check individual organizers for registration, tickets and last-minute changes.

Wednesday, Oct. 7

Fall Break Nourish Kids — Children ages 2-12 can participate in a free activity, sample locally grown produce and receive $5 in Produce Bucks to spend with farmers from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. at the Market Square Farmers Market. Find Nourish Kids details

22 Days of Halloween — Children ages 2-12 can make a different spooky craft from 4-5 p.m. at South Knoxville Branch Library.

Halls Teen Book Club — Teens can meet other readers and discuss their current favorite books from 4-5 p.m. at Halls Branch Library.

Thursday, Oct. 8

Goosebumps Party — Children ages 6-14 can enjoy “ghoulishly good” crafts and activities inspired by the popular spooky book series from noon-4 p.m. at South Knoxville Branch Library.

LEGO Club — Elementary-age builders can create with LEGO bricks from 3:30-4:30 p.m. at Howard Pinkston Branch Library.

Construction Junction: Building for Young Engineers — Elementary-age children can explore engineering concepts with construction sets and books from 4-5 p.m. at Halls Branch Library.

Paper Art — Teens and adults can create paper art from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at Burlington Branch Library. Registration is required.

Boo! at the Zoo — Zoo Knoxville begins four consecutive nights of Halloween fun from 5:30-9 p.m. The event features the Storybook Trick-or-Treat Trail, Monster Mash Dance Party, carnival games, animal encounters and the new HallowGlow Forest. Tickets are required. Plan a Boo! at the Zoo visit

Friday, Oct. 9

dRC Community Health Fair — Families can learn about accessible health care and community services from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. at the Ashley Nicole Dream Playground. The community event also includes bounce houses, live music and other activities. Find health fair information

Saturday, Oct. 10

Finish on the Field 5K and Kids Mile — Young runners and their families can cross the finish line at Covenant Health Park during an event scheduled from 8-11 a.m. Find race information

Nourish Kids — The free children’s program returns to the Market Square Farmers Market from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Children ages 2-12 receive an activity, a produce sample and $5 in Produce Bucks. See Nourish Knoxville events

Friends of the Library Used Book Sale — Families can browse used books from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. at Halls Branch Library. Check the library listing

Ijams Junior Naturalist: Cave Adventures — Students can explore an Ijams cave system from 1-4 p.m. while learning about geological formations, rock types, salamanders and the landscape of the Tennessee River Valley. Sunday, Oct. 11

Monday, Oct. 12

Next-Level Spanish — Teens ages 12 and older who have completed previous beginner classes can continue developing vocabulary and conversation skills from 2:30-3 p.m. at Cedar Bluff Branch Library. Registration is required.

Creepy Craft Time: Chaotic Cauldrons — Elementary-age children can create a bubbling Halloween-themed craft from 4:15-5:15 p.m. at Halls Branch Library.

LEGO Club — Children can build and create from 5-7 p.m. at Burlington Branch Library.
