Almost everyone has either read the novel or seen the play, Peter Pan, telling the story of the boy who can fly and never ages, his fairy friend Tinker Bell, the Lost Boys, and the Darling children (Wendy, John, and Michael) in the magical world of Neverland, where they battle the pirate, Captain Hook. Every generation should enjoy this magical tale and continue to pass it on.

The author of Peter Pan, J.M. Barrie, was a Scottish novelist and playwright, remembered primarily as the creator of Peter Pan, although he wrote many successful novels and plays.

He was born and educated in  Scotland and then moved to London, where he met the  Llewelyn Davies boys, who became family friends and inspired him to write about a baby boy who has magical adventures, then to write Peter Pan, a “fairy play” about an ageless boy and an ordinary girl named Wendy who have adventures in the fantasy setting of Neverland.

Barrie unofficially adopted the Davies boys following the deaths of their parents, and they continued to inspire Barrie’s imagination.
