Robert Earl Maloney, 94, passed away on Thursday, January 18, 2024. Bob and his father-in-law owned Don Wylie Hardware Store, located on Cumberland Avenue near the UT campus, for 34 years. Later, he worked for Rochester Midland Chemical company as a sales representative.
After retirement, Bob spent his afternoons as a ranger and starter at Gettysvue Country Club. He loved gospel and quartet music and was an avid UT fan. His happy place was sitting on the dock at their home on Fort Loudon Lake with his wife, Marty.
Bob was a member of Concord Presbyterian Church. He served in the U.S. Navy and was a member of the Chota Masonic Lodge #253.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, January 24, at 1 p.m. at Berry Highland Memorial Funeral Home. The obituary is here.
