Week 4 of high school football brought big victories, shutouts and a couple of close finishes across Knoxville and East Tennessee.

Central turned in one of the night’s biggest performances, rolling past Campbell County, 70-0. Powell also stayed unbeaten with a 42-7 win over William Blount.

South-Doyle continued its perfect start by defeating Carter, 34-14, while Hardin Valley picked up a 45-14 victory over West Ridge. Fulton earned its first win of the season with a 32-7 victory over Gatlinburg-Pittman.

Alcoa continued its winning ways as the Tornadoes defeated West, 56-7. Maryville shut out Cleveland, 33-0, and Gibbs defeated Morristown East, 42-14.

One of the night’s closest games came in Kingsport, where Dobyns-Bennett edged previously unbeaten Oak Ridge, 44-42. Thursday night, Clinton rallied to defeat Karns, 21-14.

Concord Christian earned a signature victory with a 30-23 win over Halls. The result marked a milestone for the young program, now in its second season since football returned to the school’s athletic lineup following a seven-year hiatus. The win over an established Knox County program provides another sign of the progress Concord Christian is making as it rebuilds its football tradition.
