Watch it wiggle, see it jiggle …

Not all art has to be serious. For April 1st, it seems appropriate to revel in a little artistic silliness.

Just as one might see a handful of mules grazing across a field in Tennessee, a small herd of camels in Morocco was not an uncommon sight. Seemingly harmless, they are big, wrinkly and comical . . . and then they turned around.

One cannot help but giggle at the camel jiggle.Camels serve as important movers and transporters in this Saharan neighborhood. We saw one working a revolving millstone grinding argan nuts. We took to hoof and let them transport us to our tent in the dessert where we spent two cool nights enjoying the orange sand, and experiencing the nomadic life.

Photographer Chris and painter Robin Rohwer each week share a painting or photograph that captured their interest in hopes that it will also capture yours. They have a small studio and gallery in the Phoenix Building at 418 South Gay Street where you can stop and see their work. Their website is www.ChristopherRobinArts.com. All works are copyright protected.
