Wallace Real Estate celebrated Knoxville’s history and the importance of preserving its distinctive places as a table sponsor of the 2026 Knox Heritage Scruffy City Soirée.
Held Sept. 11 at The Mill & Mine, the Soirée brought together community leaders, businesses, and preservation advocates for an evening of food, music, a whiskey pull, live auction, and the presentation of the Preservationist of the Year award. Wallace team members and guests attended the event at two sponsored tables.
As Wallace Real Estate continues to commemorate its 90th anniversary throughout 2026, supporting historic preservation has special significance. The locally owned company was founded in Knoxville in 1936 and has grown alongside the communities it serves throughout East Tennessee.
“For 90 years, Wallace has been part of the story of Knoxville and East Tennessee,” said Jennifer Montgomery, principal broker of the Wallace Downtown Office. “We appreciate Knox Heritage’s work to protect the places that tell our community’s story while creating opportunities for them to remain vibrant and useful for generations to come.”
The sponsorship continues Wallace’s support of Knox Heritage and its preservation mission, which has also included support for a preservation-focused film screening. The company’s Downtown Office gives Wallace agents a close connection to Knoxville’s historic center and the ongoing revitalization taking place there.
The Scruffy City Soirée is Knox Heritage’s largest annual fundraiser. Proceeds help the organization continue its work to preserve historic buildings and neighborhoods throughout the community.
