Wallace Real Estate is proud to recognize Jennifer “Jenni” Humphrey-Poveda, Principal Broker of the company’s North Office, as the 2026 recipient of the Charles A. Wallace Award, affectionately known within the company as the “Uncle Charlie” Award.

Named for one of Wallace Real Estate’s founders, Charles A. Wallace, the award honors an individual who embodies steadfast leadership, dependability, and grace under pressure. The nickname stems from a story often shared in the Wallace family: at Chairman of the Board George Wallace’s wedding, Charles remarked, “When things get gnarly, you can count on Uncle Charlie.” Over the years, that phrase has come to represent the spirit behind the award and the kind of person it is meant to celebrate.

This year’s recipient exemplifies that spirit in every sense.

For her agents, colleagues, and clients alike, Humphrey-Poveda has long been someone others can count on. She leads with grit, gumption, and an unwavering commitment to the people around her. Her strength, resilience, and steady presence have made a lasting impact on those who work alongside her every day.

“Jenni is the kind of leader who shows up with strength, humility, and heart, no matter what the circumstances may be,” said George Wallace, Chairman of the Board of Wallace Real Estate. “She is deeply respected throughout our company because she leads with integrity, cares deeply for her people, and remains steady when others need her most. She truly represents what the Charles A. Wallace Award is all about.”

A graduate of the University of Tennessee, Humphrey-Poveda has been a Realtor since 2002 and has served as Principal Broker of Wallace Real Estate’s North Office since September 2016. In that role, she has led a team of more than 65 agents who close approximately 500 transactions annually.

Humphrey-Poveda is known for fostering a culture of collaboration and mutual respect while keeping a strong focus on protecting the best interests of clients and providing agents with the training and support they need to build sustainable, successful businesses.

Humphrey-Poveda’s leadership has helped shape not only the culture of the North Office, but also the broader Wallace Real Estate family. Her ability to navigate challenges with grace while continuing to invest in others has made her a trusted source of support and encouragement across the company.

Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her husband and two sons, as well as gardening, photography, volunteering and exploring new beaches.

At Wallace Real Estate, the “Uncle Charlie” Award is about more than recognition. It is a tribute to the people who quietly and consistently show up for others, especially when the path is not easy. In Jennifer Humphrey-Poveda, Wallace is honored to celebrate a leader who lives out that legacy every day.
