Two Morning Pointe associates, Heidi Attaway of Knoxville and Tameica Johnson of Powell, were recently recognized by Alzheimer’s Tennessee with Caring Hearts Awards for the impact they make in residents’ lives each day.
Their stories offer an opportunity to highlight the often-unseen role caregivers play in helping seniors navigate memory loss and providing support to families during a difficult journey.
“People often see the medical side of dementia care, but what they don’t always see are the countless moments of compassion that happen every day,” said Greg Vital, co-founder of Morning Pointe Senior Living. “A smile, a reassuring conversation, a familiar face or a helping hand can make an enormous difference for someone living with memory loss. Heidi and Tameica represent the very best of that calling.”
As more families face the challenges of Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia, caregivers often become a source of comfort, stability, and connection for both residents and their loved ones. Heidi and Tameica are shining a light on the impact of caregivers.
