Sandra ClarkFarragut, Let's Talk

Noon Thursday, April 7, was the deadline to return a qualifying petition to run for Town of Farragut offices and state offices. An interesting array of candidates came forward, but with no real surprises. The election will be August 4, 2022.

In Farragut, Mayor Ron Williams, seeking a second term, will be challenged by Bill Johns, Sean Murphy and Randal Roberts.

Ward 1 (North of Kingston Pike) is represented by Vice Mayor Louise Povlin and Alderman Scott Meyer. Meyer is running for reelection, challenged by Adam Atherton and James “Jim” Hill.

Ward 2 (South of Kingston Pike) is represented by Ron Pinchok and Drew Burnette. Pinchok is term-limited, having won 4-year terms in 2014 and 2018. He has chaired several committees, been a strong advocate for McFee Park and served as alderman, vice mayor and mayor, following the death of Ralph McGill. Challengers for the open seat are: Marty Layman, Sean Murphy, Randal Roberts and David White.

Candidates have one week to withdraw before the ballot is finalized.
