Tim Collins, store manager for Food City’s Pikeville, Ky., location, was named Store Manager of the Year by the Food Marketing Institute, a national trade association. The 10 finalists were recognized at the industry’s future connect leadership conference last week in St. Louis, Mo.
Collins said he manages a store “filled with employees of the year. They are a huge part of why I was considered for this award.”
A 32-year veteran, Collins has worked his way up through the organization, serving as a mentor to many associates and managers and implementing several innovative in-store programs.
He volunteers with numerous nonprofits, including Kiwanis Club, YMCA and Pikeville Chamber of Commerce.
