Wildflower report – Porter Creek Trail (B-E) – 21 August 2023
- Asiatic Day Flower – Few – At peak bloom (dainty but attractive blue color).
- Cardinal Flower – Few – Mostly at peak bloom – Absolutely gorgeous – about .07 up the trail on right.
- Daisy Fleabane – Few – Past peak bloom (about gone).
- Doll Eyes – (1) – Berries.
- Erect Golden Rod – Some – Approaching peak bloom. A few other species of Golden Rod.
- Heal All – Some – Beyond peak bloom but still some nice blooms.
- Horse Nettle – (1) – Past peak bloom.
- Large Bluet – Few – Past peak bloom.
- Pale Jewelweed – Many – Many at peak bloom – very colorful. (Also called Yellow Touch-Me-Nots)
- Reclining Saint Andrews Cross – Some – At peak bloom.
- Spotted Jewelweed – Few – Past peak bloom (close to being gone).
- Tick Trefoil – Few – Past peak bloom but still some decent blooms.
- White Top Aster – Many – Lower elevations peak bloom – higher elevations just starting to bloom.
- Wood Nettle – Many – Many at peak bloom.
- Yellow Wood Sorrell – Few – At peak bloom. Blooms opened after I went up trail before I came back.
