Splendor in the grass

Christopher RobinOur Town Arts

This painting is from a morning out in Sevier County with a few friends. Painted from a small cemetery, it is a beautiful area of rolling hills, farms and mountain peaks … and really quiet.

The red grass in front of the barn sealed the deal on this painting. Beauty was all around, but the color of the red bermuda grass in contrast with the rest centered my gaze. Farmers may consider it a problematic weed, but that is the beholder’s choice.
