I wrote an article in April on Shannon Sayne and the incredible season for the Halls Wrestling Team he coaches. Last Wednesday, June 14, Sayne was recognized for his continuing contributions to his team’s accomplishment by being named the NWCA Tennessee Boys Head Coach of the Year by the National Wrestling Coaches Association.

The National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) is a professional organization dedicated to advancing the sport of wrestling. The organization promotes the values of wrestling, including character development, sportsmanship and academic achievement. Shannon Sayne is consistently commended as exemplifying these core values, modeling them in his own life on and off the mat.
