The family will receive friends on Wednesday, March 1, from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Saint George Greek Orthodox Church, 4070 Kingston Pike, Knoxville, for a popular Fountain City business owner. Demetrios “Jim” Regas owned and operated The Original Louis Drive-In Restaurant for over 30 years.
He was a devoted member of the Greek Orthodox Church. His funeral service will follow the receiving of friends at 1 p.m. Father Anthony Stratis, Father Dionysis Lampropoulos and Deacon Mark Smith will officiate. Interment following the service at Lynnhurst Cemetery.
Mr. Regas, age 81, passed away on Wednesday, February 22, 2023. He was born March 16, 1941, in Alepohori, Sparti, Greece, and then moved to the U.S. in the early seventies with his wife, Demetra, to start their life and family together. His full obituary is here.
