Services will be held Wednesday for John David Tumblin, widely known doctor of optometry in Knoxville, Fountain City and Sevierville. A Fountain City native, Dr. Tumblin practiced for years with his brother, Dr. Jim Tumblin, in the historic Fountainhead building and later on Sanders Lane. He died July 6 at age 88.
Dr. Tumblin was a former president of the Knoxville Breakfast Optimist Club and an active member of the Laurel Church of Christ. He is survived by wife Billie, brothers Jim and Richard, three children and their families. Additional obituary information here.
The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until noon Wednesday, July 10, at Berry Lynnhurst Funeral Home with service to follow at noon in the chapel.
