Funeral services will be today, Jan. 5, 2023, for Richard “Rick” Passmore, 72, who passed away on January 1, 2023. He graduated from Carson Newman University to be an ordained minister and became the associate pastor at Olivet Baptist Church. Soon after, he was the senior pastor at Beaumont Avenue Baptist Church and later settled at Faithway Baptist Church in Halls as the senior pastor for 27 years.
Survivors include wife of 53 years, Margaret; children Melissa Kolak (husband Billy), Richard S. Passmore (wife Hope), Susan Glover (husband Ben); and others. The full obituary is here.
Family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. on Thursday, January 5, with funeral service to follow at Faithway Baptist Church, 4402 Crippen Rd., Knoxville, Tennessee. The Rev. Jerry Vittatoe and the Rev. Rick Graves will officiate. Family and friends will meet on Friday at 12:45 p.m. at Greenwood Cemetery for graveside service at 1 p.m.
