James W. “Jim” Huskey, 79, of Seymour, Tennessee, passed away May 4, 2023, and services will be today (5/11/23) at Atchley’s Smoky Mountain Chapel in Pigeon Forge. The family will receive friends from 10-11 a.m. with services and interment to follow.
Mr. Huskey lived in Sevier County most of his life, with time away for military service in Vietnam. He was a 1962 graduate of Pi Beta Phi in Gatlinburg and worked for the National Park Service as a backcountry ranger until his retirement.
Jim was an advocate for historical preservation, natural conservation and maintenance within the Great Smoky Mountains National Park and was instrumental in the restoration of the Mount Cammerer Fire Tower. His full obituary is here.
