The hardest-working woman in Halls has died. Bobbie Bailey Padgett, 87, ran The Amber Restaurant since 1976. The restaurant continues today under the leadership of her son and daughter-in-law, Dwight and Donna Padgett.
Mrs. Padgett was a proud supporter of Halls High athletics and numerous community projects. She was voted Halls Woman of the Year in 1986 by the Halls Business and Professional Association.
Survivors include her husband of 66 years, Don Padgett; Dwight and Donna Padgett; grandsons Ike (Avery) Padgett and Ben Padgett. There are three great-grandchildren: Kannon, Kenzie and Kaden Padgett. She also leaves her sister-in-law, Thelma Bailey.
The family will receive friends at Mynatt Funeral Home in Halls from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, May 29, with a service to follow. Obituary details here.
