Wanda Shaver Williams, 74, wife of WBIR anchor emeritus Bill Williams, passed away October 26 after a three-year battle with pancreatic cancer. Family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. Monday, Oct. 28, with a 7 p.m. service at Central Baptist Church Fountain City. Burial will be 3 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 29, at Lynnhurst Cemetery.
Mrs. Williams grew up in Gibbs and attended the University of Tennessee. She worked for Retail Credit Corporation, TVA, the Tennessee Center for Research and Development, and for Mayor Mike Ragsdale.
She married Bill Williams in 1983, after an introduction by her friend Mary Lou Horner. Find additional obituary information here. Gentry Griffey Funeral Chapel is serving the Williams family.
