Talent doesn’t have an expiration date, and the Morning Pointe Foundation is once again looking for East Tennessee performers age 60 and older to prove it.
The 2026 Seniors Got Talent Knoxville competition is set for Tuesday, November 10, at 6:30 p.m. at the Bijou Theatre in downtown Knoxville. Before the big show, however, contestants must earn their spot through auditions being held throughout the Knoxville area in late September.
The local audition schedule includes Morning Pointe of Clinton on Tuesday, September 22; Morning Pointe of Hardin Valley on Wednesday, September 23; Morning Pointe of Knoxville on Thursday, September 24; and Morning Pointe of Powell on Friday, September 25. Each of those auditions runs from 2-4 p.m. An additional audition will be held September 21 at Morning Pointe of Lenoir City.
The final deadline to audition is September 28, with the top contestants scheduled to be notified October 1.
Seniors Got Talent is open to performers age 60 and older, and groups may include up to six people. Acts are limited to three minutes. Judges consider stage presence and professionalism, technical ability, appearance or costume, difficulty, originality and creativity.
There is plenty of evidence that East Tennessee seniors can put on a show. Knoxville’s past first-place winners include singer and guitarist James Taylor in 2021, pianist Deborah Cable in 2022, comedian Corkey Miller in 2023, Pistol Creek Catch of the Day in 2024 and 77-year-old pianist Beverly Kerr in 2025.
Kerr won last year’s Knoxville competition with a performance of “Ode to Joy (Joyful, Joyful, We Adore Thee).” The Sapphires a cappella quartet placed second, singer Joel Dupré finished third, and Better with Every Breath earned the People’s Choice Award.
The competition is about more than entertainment. Proceeds benefit the Morning Pointe Foundation, which provides scholarships for students pursuing fields including nursing, social work and therapy, as well as caregiver education and support programs.
First place comes with a $1,000 prize, second place receives $500 and third place receives $250.
