I wrote a story a couple of weeks ago on the Hardin Valley Academy Tennis Team and their record-setting season. This is a follow-up story on one of the amazing young men that is a member of that team.

Ryan Leckrone is a 10th grade student at Hardin Valley Academy, excelling in school academics. As part of his Chinese language class, he is going on a school-sponsored overseas field trip from May 28 to June 12 to Taiwan.

Ryan will travel to Taiwan as soon as he returns from the tennis state championship tournament as the Region 2-AA winner which earned him the spot in the state tournament.

Ryan is the only player in Hardin Valley Academy history to win the “quadruple” which is 4 titles in one season and he not only won them, but he accomplished it within a 10-day span in May.

Ryan won the district 4-AA as a singles player and with his team and then followed those wins by both winning Region 2-AA with his team and as a singles player.

Overall, Ryan had a remarkable season, playing No. 1 singles and No. 1 doubles with a record of 31-7 as he heads to the state championship at the end of this month.

What makes this young man’s journey even more extraordinary is he spent part of this year in rehabilitation since he had offseason hip surgery and followed by putting together this incredible season. Look for more on Ryan Leckrone as he will be one to watch!

All of us have a story and I want to tell yours! Send them to susan@knoxtntoday.com
