All golfers, businesses, organizations, and other Maryville College Scots fans are invited to participate in the College’s first-ever Highlander Cup Golf Tournament, scheduled for June 8 at Green Meadow Country Club in Alcoa.

The format is a four-person scramble, with play limited to 20 foursomes. Registration is now open for golfers and sponsorships, and can be completed at this link. Deadline to register for play is May 22; sponsorships can be purchased through May 1.

All registrants receive MC-Branded Nike apparel, a boxed lunch provided by Chick-Fil-A on West Broadway, beverages and snacks on the course, and a sit-down catered dinner.

Proceeds from the tournament, which will become an annual event after 2026, will support the Athletics department.

“We are planning for friendly competition in a relaxed atmosphere with opportunities to engage with the Scots community and learn more about the most recent accomplishments of our players and coaches, as well as the exciting future of our program,” said Dr. Andrew Wu, athletics director. “Whether you’re teeing it up, sponsoring, or simply joining the celebration, this event is a chance to be part of something special—joining tradition, achievement and community. We are deeply grateful to Green Meadow for helping us create an event that we believe people will look forward to every spring.”

On-course competitions (winners of which are gifted a free registration for the next year) include long drive, close-to-pin and Challenge a Scot.

Hole sponsorships are available, with special packages including foursome registrations, player packs and other promotional opportunities. Title sponsorships are also available.

The 2026-2027 academic year marks a significant milestone in the history of MC Athletics, as all Scots teams begin competition in the Southern Athletic Association (SAA).

“The SAA is a conference that will elevate our athletic program, as well as our College. We’ve enjoyed decades-long rivalries with many of the SAA schools — like Centre, Berry and Sewanee — and done well, but the competition across this league will test our mettle,” Wu said. “Just as we are stepping up our game, we are asking this community and our supporters to step up and help us make Maryville College better known as a place for talented and serious student-athletes.”
