I thought March was supposed to “Come in like a lion and go out like a lamb,” as the old saying goes. This weekend’s weather was much more like a lion than a lamb! Today’s sunshine is nice to see after such a wet weekend.

Last week 2,200 documents were recorded in Knox County. Of those, 596 were new loans and 270 were property transfers.

Property sales totals for the last full week in March came to a total of $75.19 million. Only one of the 270 deeds was for a commercial property over $1 million. This was the sale of the Spanish Trace apartment complex located on Davenport Rd in South Knoxville. Joe Levitt Jr. sold the property to 2300 Davenport Holding LP for $1.8 million. South Knoxville is experiencing great revitalization!

Last week’s lending total was $140.14 million. The lenders are certainly staying busy with so many people refinancing at today’s low rates. This week four banks funded loans over $1 million:

  • First Horizon Bank – $1.03 million
  • Capstar Bank – $1.46 million
  • Ohio National Life Insurance – $2.0
  • Corevest American Finance Lender LLC – $3.0 million
