The Rev. Katina Sharp was ordained as a minister of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) and installed as the pastor of Powell Presbyterian Church in a ceremony at the church on Feb. 18.
The Rev. Sharp is a graduate of Dubuque Theological Seminary, and Powell Presbyterian is her first ordained call. In addition to pastoring at Powell, she also runs an interfaith youth program called Seeds of Abraham which seeks to promote peace and understanding among the youth of Knoxville and the surrounding areas.
Prior to entering professional ministry, she was a mental health and substance abuse counselor. She and her husband, Mike, have four sons: Jackson, Ethan, Aaron and Nolan.
